Privacy Policy

Effective date: September 29, 2026

MoyMote does not send your data to us. There is no MoyMote account, no MoyMote cloud service, no analytics, no telemetry and no crash reporting. Your monitor controls travel only between your phone and your PC. The only internet connection the app makes on its own is to Microsoft Store, to check your license or trial status. Remote access over Tailscale is optional, off by default, and uses your own Tailscale installation and account.

What we collect

Through the app: nothing. MoyMote does not collect analytics, usage statistics, crash reports or advertising identifiers, and neither the desktop app nor the phone panel sends data to us or to any analytics or advertising service.

If you write to [email protected], use the support form, or leave your email for the launch notice on this website, we receive what you send (your name, email address and message) and use it only to reply to you or to send that notice.

Microsoft Store license check

To find out whether you are in the free trial or have bought MoyMote, the app asks Microsoft Store through Windows' built-in Store licensing service. If that check is not possible, the app uses the last result saved on your PC. This exchange is between your PC and Microsoft and is covered by the Microsoft Privacy Statement; we do not receive it.

How the app uses your network

MoyMote runs a small web server bound to your PC's local network address, plus a control page on the PC itself (127.0.0.1). The connection uses unencrypted HTTP on the local network: anyone able to inspect or intercept that network traffic may see control requests and the device key sent with them. Use only a trusted private network.

The pairing QR code contains a short-lived, single-use ticket (valid for about two minutes), not a permanent key. Redeeming the ticket creates a separate device key for that phone. The phone's browser keeps the key and sends it with each request; the PC stores only a hashed form of it. You can revoke any paired phone, or all of them, in the app.

If you turn on optional remote access, MoyMote also listens on the PC's Tailscale IP address. That connection travels inside Tailscale's encrypted tunnel, but other devices and users allowed into your tailnet can reach the server; keep your tailnet limited to your own devices. Data stored on your own devices

MoyMote keeps the following only on your devices. None of it is sent to us.

• On the PC: the list of paired phones (a random ID, a name taken from the phone's browser such as "iPhone · Safari", and when it was paired and last used) with a hashed form of each phone's key; your last monitor settings; the remote access setting; the saved license and trial status; and a local log file (rotated at about 2 MB) that records requests, including the local IP address of the device that sent them. Keys and pairing tickets are not written to the log.
• On the phone: the device key and your custom modes, in that browser's storage.
• If you choose "Download diagnostic report", the report is saved on your device with keys, QR tickets and raw IP addresses left out. It reaches us only if you decide to send it.

To remove this data, revoke phones in the app, clear the phone browser's data for the MoyMote page, or uninstall MoyMote from Windows.

Third parties

MoyMote does not include third-party analytics, advertising or tracking. Microsoft handles Store licensing and purchases. Tailscale is not bundled with MoyMote; if you choose to install it, its service and account are governed by Tailscale's own terms and privacy policy. This website is hosted on Cloudflare, loads its font from Google Fonts, and delivers support and launch-notice messages to our inbox through a form relay on Cloudflare. The website sets no cookies and uses no analytics.

Purchase data

MoyMote is sold through Microsoft Store. Your purchase (payment method, billing details, purchase history) is handled entirely by Microsoft under Microsoft's own privacy policy; we do not receive or store your payment information. Our only view of sales is aggregate reporting in Partner Center, which does not identify you personally.

Data retention

The app sends us nothing, so there is nothing for us to retain from it. Emails and form messages you send us are kept only as long as needed to answer you or to send the launch notice; ask us at any time to delete them.

Children's privacy

MoyMote is a utility for controlling desktop monitor hardware and is not directed at children. It does not knowingly collect data from anyone, including children.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this same address with a new effective date.
